Common Questions
OpenClaw is an open-source, self-hosted agent framework. You own everything, there's no subscription required beyond the AI model API you choose, and it excels at connecting to messaging apps, email, and calendar tools. Claude Code is Anthropic's official agentic CLI — it runs with your Anthropic subscription and gives you direct access to the best frontier models (Claude Opus, Sonnet, etc.). They are separate products; OpenClaw cannot use Claude Code's harness or exclusive features.
Choose Claude Code if you want the best frontier model quality and are comfortable with an Anthropic subscription. It's the officially supported product with the strongest model backing. Choose OpenClaw if you want full control, open-source transparency, and no platform lock-in. We'll help you decide on the consultation call.
Not at all. We handle the entire technical setup. You just tell us what you want automated and which tools you use. We do the rest.
Both frameworks run on macOS and Linux. Claude Code requires Node.js and an active Anthropic subscription. OpenClaw can also be deployed to cloud servers (VPS). A Mac mini, laptop, or a $5/mo cloud server all work great.
Your data stays on your machine. With OpenClaw, nothing is sent to third-party servers beyond the AI model API calls you authorize. Claude Code communicates with Anthropic's API as part of normal operation. We configure security hardening as part of every setup regardless of framework.
The setup plan includes 30 days of email support. For ongoing help, our monthly support subscription gives you up to 2 hours of hands-on troubleshooting and optimization each month.
Most setups are complete in under 4 hours. Complex configurations with multiple integrations may take a bit longer, but we always aim for same-day completion.
